Aperion Audio Intimus 532 vs. Axiom's M3 v2???

I am trying to piece together my first home theater system and just wanted to see what
other's thought. So far I have a Onkyo TXSR804 receiver and a Velodyne VRP-1000 Sub. So I am looking for a pair of bookshelf speakers and surround speakers. Both of the 532's and the M3's have good reviews and cost about the same, anyone have a preference.?. Also what do you think about the surround speakers, (Intimus 534-SS and the Axiom's QS4)? What about B&W bookshelf speakers? I went to their site but I don't see any prices and the site is not very user friendly. Any Ideas?

B&W makes some good speakers. the 600 series start at $300 a pair.
Aperion has a reputation for a very smooth sound, and some people find Axiom to be bright.
of corse, it's all in the ear of the beholder.

The Axiom M3 is one of the least bright Axioms, and personally I'd chose it over the B&W for home theater because I find it to sound more dynamic which I prefer for home theater. I must admit that I am not a big fan of B&W in general though (but I'm surprised you can't find a local dealer, there are a lot of them).

You will have to find a local dealer. They are not sold on the internet. They are great speakers, though, and worth the effort to audition.

I have had my B&W 603's for about 6 months now. I am completely satisfied with my purchase, they have yet to let me down. I will say this though, the finish on the Axioms is oh so tempting!

Ascend Acoustics is another good choice. On the cheaperside of the budget besides the X-ls already mentioned look at SVS' SBS and the new bookshelf from Hsu Research. I heard both at CES and both are exellent values for the money.

For whatever reason Aperion doesn't seem that popular around here. I mean that in the sense that not many people have them, not that they're not well liked. I have both the 532s and 632s in my system. "Smooth" is probably as good a description for them as any. They are, in my opinion, nicely balanced; they're not extreme in either the high or low end, unlike some of the others. I might've expected a little more power from the 532s, but that may just be because the 632s sounda lot bigger. Otherwise, you can't beat the finish, build quality, return policy, etc.
