Not to sound like a shameless shill, but an excellent article and quite refreshing to see an honest and straightforward company like APC take a leadership position in the audio/video power conditioning/surge protecting, and battery back-up field. Using advanced engioneering/design, honest specifications, top drawer capability/function, and robust build quality and all at a reasonable price, particularly in comparison to the competition, is great for the consumer and business in general.

I have used APC products (and others) for protecting my office equipment and computers. I am certainly likely to buy their products for protecting my audio/video equipment and for cleaning up my electricity and any extraneous line noise.

I would love to see them build multi-channel amplifiers, surround processors, and receivers. Who wouldn't want to buy other components from such a great electrical engineering company that is using top flight science (and not mythology and BS) to design their products?

Great article. Now that I've moved up to projection, I'm seriously considering getting some sort of UPS system for my system (or the projector at least).

Good to know that the folks at APC are spending as much time as possible getting it right rather than just slapping a "Home Theater" sticker on the case of one of their IT products.

I've seen APC units take a beating in the IT world -- so when the budget allows, I'll give them a chance in my theater.

J15blk

I just installed an APC J15BLK in my new home theater. I've been in the IT business for 22 year and have deployed hundreds of APC devices. From everthing I've read the J15 is an amazing AV product with the typical APC high-quality engineering (all at a fairly reasonable price)!

Great Article!

I've deployed over 50+ APC UPS' over the last 8 years, definitely solid products.

Every unit comes with a "test receipt" in the box listing all tests performed and "passed" leaving the factory.

How many other manufacturers do you know who do that?

P.S. I am not affiliated with APC whatsoever other than being a satisfied customer.
