Anyone suggest a Upconversion DVD Home Theatre?

I have a Pioneer PDP-5040 plasma tv and currently I have an old Yamaha DVD player and I want to get the most out of my already huge collection of DVD's without replacing them all for Blueray....can anyone suggest a great DVD 5.1 Home theatre player with HDMI upconversion for quality audio and video?

Oppo Digital 970 or 971 for budget, Denon 3930CI for reference quality.

One important question

Does the Denon 3930CI have outputs for direct speaker plug in or would this require another machine

You would need to run it through a reciever. You'll likely get a better answer of what will work for you if you post what your looking to spend. e.g. the Oppo is around $200, the Denon 3930CI is around $1500. It doesn't matter what it can do if it is out of your budget.

Money is not an issue...space is...so I'm trying to find a great DVD Player that has Upconversion to 780/1080i that is also 5.1 surround with the speakers included (i.e built in receiver) so that I don't have too many machines around

so to reiterate:

Onkyo makes a receiver/DVD combo unit that can also be purchased as a package with speakers. I think Denon does too.

You'd have to check their websites to see if the units have all the features you require.
