My 4 Ohm speakers were also 91dB sensitive and still presented a difficult load, but they were confirmed to dip to 2.6 Ohms min. in the lower midrange.

This MTM speaker is very sensitive, rated at 91 dB at 2.83 volts. It should be easy to drive, and that Denon AVR is no slouch. You're probably being overprotective, as was Denon. But your question would be easy to answer by looking at an impedance vs. frequency curve for the speaker. Ask DIY Sound Group if they can provide one. I can't imagine that Jeff Bagby didn't produce such a curve when he designed this MTM speaker.
After hours digging on the world wide web and on here . I am going to go with the 4 ohm MTM ribbon and keep my sub set at 50hz cross over. And have speakers set at small and I will be fine and amps should be happy with all bellow 50hz going out LFE to sub . Thanks again for all your help. The sub is a Henry Kloss 12" Cambridge sound works . 12" from wall and has treated me good for years

I Just dug out my old Carver HTR-880 and on page 20 in the owners manual it states that speakers should be a minimum of 4 Ohms when driving one pair. So this will be powering my next build. Gonna have my turntable in pure stereo and fire up the Old carver …The Carver has thermal shut down for the amp anyways .. Now I am Excited.. The Denon will be for my digital stuff in 4.1
