Anyone have Martin Logan: Motion 10's?

I was able to audition a couple sets of speakers yesterday and really liked the Motion 10's. I listened to a pair of ERA's (D5's) alongside of the MartinLogans. I liked the ERA's also, but I felt like the imaging of the MartinLogans was a bit better.

I'd love to hear comments from anyone that has these, or any other pair of speakers near the $1000-$1200 price range.

Also, are floorstanders generally better at imaging than bookshelves? Does it have anything to do with the fact that they have an extra driver?

As a rule (there are exceptions), bookshelf speakers image better than floorstanders because the source of the sound (the drivers) are closer together.
The advantage associated with multiple woofers is higher efficiency.

I'm not familiar with the Motions, but I do remember a review stating that they did not really hit their stride until they were turned up fairly loud. Depending on your listening habits, this could be an issue.

Among internet direct companies, the Ascend Sierra's are a good option:

(Note that if you are okay with B-stock, you can get the Sierras in dark cherry gloss for $728).

Note that even though they are bookshelf speakers, the Sierras go 20Hz lower than the M-L Motions.

The problem with the Sierras is that if you don't like them, it will cost you about $35 to $40 to ship them back (within 30 days).
