WOW, What a Sub!!!!
This thing is so friggen awesome. It uses two 10 inch subs with one powered and the other passive and moving opposite the powered sub in a piston like fashion (design called SLAPS- Symmetrically Loaded Audio Passive System). I do not have a SPL meter or any test equipment, but positioned in the corner of my room this bad boy is putting out cleaner, lower bass, than I have ever heard (room approx 13x17). I simply cannot imagine the output levels of their 12-18' models.
Not a great movie, but the train starting to chug in The Polar Express is great at showing off the Earthquake’s attributes. The Matrix scene where Neo saves Trinity while the chopper flies into the building was also stellar.
It is spectacular with music because it is so tight, responsive, and totally without sluggishness, i.e. - it does a d@mn sight more than rumble loudly.
The sub leaves a small footprint and in Cherry (vs. Black) there was a much higher WAF. These can be picked up for $325-350 plus $50 shipping on eBay and I highly recommend picking one up if your looking for a powered subwoofer in the sub-$500 range.
All my movies DEMAND to be watched again (though the 46' Toshiba DLP upgrade from a 27' RCA demanded that anyway).
