Anyone else noticed these new sneaks for kids with a wheel on the heel?

I guess kids didn't do anything remotely dangerous back when you were a kid.

Let them have some fun. Don't be that guy who sits on the porch and yells at "those damn kids" who aren't bothering you at all.

Yeah, I did, but I knew the difference between dangerous to myself and dangerous to others.

...and wearing roller skates (or similar) in school was a known no-no, both to kids and parents. Has commmon sense dropped to this level?

Sorry, I've always had problems with stupid and inconsiderate people and now to find out that they are passing those stupid and inconsiderate genes to the next generation bothers me a little.

Yep, nothing is quite as fun as a bicyclist's first clipless pedal "WTF?" moment.

Mine was being stuck hugging a newspaper machine for over an hour, asking people if they can take an allen wrench to the bolt on my pedals to release my feet. I didn't want to just fall over, since I just got done buying this $1100 bike, and it was my first ride.

Clipless?!?! Ahhaha. My dad has those on his road bike. All I remember of him riding is "Tiimmmmmberrrrr!"

Atl east your pedals don't leave battle scars. On my last camping trip I was teaching a kid there how to do a couple tricks (lift rear tire, bunny hop etc) and he put a 12 inch gash down his leg.

I've gotten scraped up by the retention mechanism a few times.

Actually my worst scars were from the large chainring on my road bicycle tearing into the outer side of my right leg. Pretty nasty crash, the bike was totalled as I slid into the curb going at least 25mph (laid it down on a turn). I had around 8-9 1" deep puncture wounds, and around 20 or so lacerations, some of them were pretty deep. The triage nurse at the ER threw up when she saw the carnage.

Bicycling is pretty safe so long as you aren't racing...then it becomes pretty nasty if you take a spill.

LOL, I just now got into this thread. I bought a pair at age 23...I'm 25 now. They are actually pretty comfortable shoes. It's fun to run around the house on the wheels... now as far as using them around the mall or grocery store, I wouldn't do it I'll just leave the wheels at home (which detach easily). The only thing I don't like about them is you can't just recess the wheel up into the shoe (like a landing gear)...you actually have to remove the wheel and store it in your pocket, or wherever.
