Its not a bad reciever for its price bracket, At $390 its significantly more appealing then at the $500 bracket though to be honest, aside from the savings.
I think its important to know what features you really want your reciever to have? I haven't done any extensive looking, other then the spec sheet offered by Best Buy, but does it support HDMI 1.3a? It doesn't appear to support DTS-MA or LPCM, so thats something to consider if you plan to move into the high definition DVD market. Just some things to consider I guess.
I used to run an HTR model Yammy, and was happy with the sound, so I imagine that this would be a great product as well. Ultimately, you are going to pay for the features you choose to have regardless of brand, and yammy makes a good product from my experiences.
