Any new Denon beyond AVR 4806 for 2006 ?

Ok, I am new and this is my first post.......

I am a Yamaha owner...... I have a R-8 which is still an excellent stereo unit and still running perfectly. Not too long ago i bought an RX-V2500, but after using it for many months i was just not too happy. Overall, the 2500 is a very nice piece of gear but had some trouble running my Pro-Audio speakers...... I spoke to Yamaha's tech directly and after speaking with them i decided to sell my 2500.

I have been looking at the AVR 4806 for some time and I am very impressed with it... but the unit has been on the market for about 1 year now (i guess), and I do not want to run out and buy it right away because I believe it is time for Denon to come out with a new receiver for 2006 that will possibly surpass the AVR 4806. When this happens it will lower the price on the existing gear at which time it would be more affordable to me; or perhaps I will just wait for their new gear.

Anyone hear anything about any new Denon A/V receivers for 2006 ?

Thanks,

NH

Well, Denon just came out with the AVR-3806 and the AVR-4306 just a month or 2 ago, so I wouldn't expect them to crank out any new receivers in the near future. That, of course, is just a guess though.

Hi,

have heard that there might be a sneak preview of the new 5806 at CES, by next week. That doesn't mean they're launching it anytime soon (most probably at CEDIA, late in September).

Anyway, considering the current "digital battle" the big ones are fighting now, it wouldn't be a suprise if Denon, Yamaha, Pioneer, HK, etc.., comes out with another models right now.

Cheers / Avliner

Hi, Ok on the 4306.......... the 4806 and 4306 are almost the same except 4806 has the Ultra 2 and more power i believe........

Also the 5805 is nice but kinda hard on the wallet......I am not that rich....

Guess I will wait a few months to see what happens with Denon, and if nothing new..... will buy the 4806.

Thanks again,

NH

May I suggest a Yamaha RX-V4600. Its basically the same but has I believe more HDMI options and upconvertion, and its cheaper.

Nothing comes close to the 4306 for the price.

no analog upconversion on the 4600 genius. read the cons on the right of this review from yamaha's own website.

No need to be rude, Benben. Sheep may have missed that, but he was only making a suggestion. You're new to the forum, so you probably haven't noticed that most are very cordial here.
