Scroll down to the bottom of the page of that link and you’ll find this:

“This product is currently not available for sale in the United States and Canada pending verification of compliance with applicable technical standards and regulations.”

The Peavey IPR stuff is a good low cost line up. And it's available.

I saw this on their website. Didn't see much else here or on the net. If I missed the thread, can someone post it?

Not to familiar with pro audio, but was considering getting an EP2000 for my mains. Was wondering how this would stack up and what the street price would be.

You mentioned the EP series but the link is of another series in the Behringer lineup. Which series are you interested in?

I will check out the Peavey line.

I was originally and still am interested in the EP line. I just saw these on the behringer homepage so that's why i posted the link. Since they're not avail stateside, I think the EP line is theonly one that will fit my application.

What model are your mains? I have an EP2000 to run a pair of subs, but that may be massive overkill for mains. Be aware, that it has a cooling fan that is quite noisy. If you listen at rave volumes, you might not notice. But, for normal listening, it will be quite annoying. I put my amp in the basement, so that I wouldn't hear it. Of course, that complicates the wiring arrangement, but it works well for me.

As an alternate, there is a quiet fan mod that you can do (just do a search for the thread and it'll come up). However, you'll probably void the warranty if you do that with a new amp. Bottom line is, if you want to put it in your listening room, you pretty much have to do the mod, or the fan will drive you nuts.:(

I paid CAN$350 for mine, plus tax. I've seen them for sale on various websites for about US$300. Not sure if you'll find it for less. It's extremely cheap power, when compared to consumer components. But, pretty it ain't.

I have the EP2000 and did the fan mod to quiet it down to make a decnet home hifi amp;

I use it on my mains running a pair of Cambridge Soundworks Tower IIs. More power than I will ever need. The only reason I got it is because I had bad experience with the A500 but still liked the sound and it was dirt cheap. The EP series are way more robust that the A500.

By the way, the EP1500, 2000, 2500 and 4000 are housed in the exact same chassis. You'll see that the 2000 is really an updated 1500 and the 4000 is an updated 2500. The 1500/2000 are class A/B whereas the 2500/4000 are class H.

I've heard the complaints about the noise. My equipment will be going into a closet so I'm hoping that will cancel it out. Otherwise I will do a fan mod.

My mains are a custom clearwave audio build. The 2T towers, got a thread here somewhere on them. The builder said they could handle around 350 watts each IIRC. Mine are on the top left on the page. http://www.clearwaveloudspeaker.com/Gallery.html

They're pretty efficient, being driven with a low-end onkyo at about 75 watts at the moment.

Since I've read on here that an "amp is an amp" and make no diff sound-wise, I'd rather save by going with Behringer than an Emotiva or other.

Was originally like the A500s but heard to many complaints. Frontrunner now is an EP2000 with an Onkyo 707 driving the rest.

How do you like those speakers? I thought about building the 2T's way back when Jed first said he was desigining them, but money woes put a stop to that. Did he ever make the matching center?

These are some amazing looking speakers, very nice build and my favorite of all the DIY towers....

I wanted a diy tower design and couldn't find any that fit the bill. Customer service was top notch, as my dad (builder) and I had a ton of questions. This was our first ever speaker build. I blew my budget so I don't think there will be another one in the near future.

The matching center is the 2CC. The one I have in the pic (on the attached link) is a modified version of that, its narrower and sealed not ported. I thought the original version was a bit too big for my tastes.

My towers are also a modified version of the 2T. We fit a side firing 10" Dayon sub in the bottom portion of the cabinet.

I've never had anything of this class to compare it to. However the clarity and smooth bass is unmatched in any speaker I've heard in nice stores and such. The subs aren't monsters, but for being small and sealed give an impressive results.

I have a build thread on Jed's forums
