I'm really happy with win10. You need a good computer for it tho. Cheap laptops cant handle it. I don't use 3rd party virus crap. All they do is bloat your computer and slow it down. If people would learn proper email etiquette and stay away from questionable websites their computers would run fine.

The best thing I found for win10 performance issues, switch to a solid state drive. As soon as I turn on pc its fully ready to go, no waiting for windows to load, or programs to load.

Windows 8.0 wasn't exactly most user-friendly either, but nowhere near horror levels of ME.

My biggest complain with win10 and maybe this started in a previous OS, cant remember, is half the settings are in "settings" and the other half in "control panel".

Annoying, yes, but I think everything has moved to settings at this point. Or settings directs you where you need to go.

The company I work for have quite niche financial software made by a Dutch company. It's in English, but it follows very few of common GUI concepts, ie: ability to find something by poking around is nearly non-existing - as a user, you're expected to know exactly what to look for. One such example many windows may have BOTH "Properties" and "Settings" right next to each other but have completely different functions underneath each. Then I asked about this TBH weird choice, the simple answer was - "The software is not designed for you [ as in not for IT]". Lovely.

Wow. That's along the lines of the software developers doing UAT. Not really the target group.

When they say "not designed for you" do they mean that it's not supposed to be logical, or that it's "so simple a monkey could use it". I'm thinking it's not the second considering your description of the GUI.
