Awesome processor. Maybe someday I'll get something like that...someday.

Just curious, I might have skimmed over it, but what Pio did you have? I have an SC-07 and absolutely love it, and I came from a Marantz 8001. I think the SQ of the SC-07 is terrific, and MCACC seems to do a better job than the MultiEq in my room. I have heard of people commenting that Pio's tend to emphasize the highs, but I haven't noticed that at all. Could be the "ICE" amps in my Elite...but who knows?

I didn't mean to ramble! Love the Anthem, and hope you enjoy it! Seems like you do so far.

Thanks mperfct

I bought Pioneer Elite 91's at a contractors price back when I started all this in a move to hold out for the HDMI and codecs stuff to get sorted out a bit more. Looking back I am extremely happy with the inexpensive move I made to buy time to focus on other areas of my system, it gave me time to lock down the subs and upgrade my amp section as well...

When prices came down on the 65" plasma I had been waiting on, it was then I could start to look for that last piece of the puzzle - the D2v.

There are only a few products out there that are in the same league with all the features these units offer, the D2v seemed to fit best for me.

I agree with you 100% on this.... If you have a fully treated room and have very little room type issues, I think the upgrade to something of this caliber might become more marginal. ARC is a very powerful room processor. There is no question that it will provide an improvement over any receiver, but how much is again very room dependent... The investment here is and can be a very hard pill to swallow.

I know that when my carpet comes in, there will be again another very large improvement for me...
Sorry to chime in a little late.

I am not fortunate enough to be able to decide wether or not to carpet my living room which doubles up as my listening area. Part of the reason to buy the Statement was its Arc capabilities and its dual processor per cahnnel capability.

I was conditioned to: no cables or speakers can be visible, the equipment had to be hidden and it all had to come out of one corner of the room. That is very tough in an a concrete building apartment, even with some furniture and a large rug in between.

IMHO, the D2 WYREDFOR SOUND 7X250 were a perfect match. Out of the box, no tweaking except speaker delays, the system was superb.

I am not sure how much of a difference the carpet can and will make in your system (I am anxious to hear your comments when you have it in). I played with the default gain parametrs and ran room correction to 20kHz and I could not tell that 4 of my spekers are in concrete corners, 3 of them right next to building columns. As a matter of fact, if I switched from stero to multichannel, I had to put my ear right up to the speker to tell if I was getting one or the other. The sound field, at least in my setup, is that good. No more boomy echoed bass. Heck, with bookshellf speakers I could not find a way to contain the bass in my system. Audyssey room correction did help but it just could not cope with my problem. It (Arc) is really incredible.

Some people like specs. All I can say is that if you do not trust your ears, the D2 calibration SW provides sound curves for any given setup. You can look at the before and after to see if there is any difference. For me, there was a large difference on paper, although not as large as I had anticipated based on sound improvement.

Despite the room correction capabilities, I need to stress the point that this device sounded great out of the box. You need to start with good sound, regardless of room correction wether it be done through remodeling or software.
Just MHO.:)

very well said my friend.....

Right out of the box, my sound was a great deal better as well, then after I ran ARC my jaw dropped open to what this unit was actually capable of accomplishing in a difficult room such as our...

I am not carpeting the entire room, although I would like to, I will not be hiding all the beautiful hard wood flooring I have in there.... But I will be covering such a majority of it, it will make an enormous difference - I know for a fact.

I'll hold off on all these updates until I see Bob is happy with them, that is another great thing about having Bob around, he reports on all the newest info and downloads all the updates to give them a trial run for us... He reports back constantly with his findings and has a direct line with Nick @ Anthem for a constant stream of information, rather then having a bunch of forum hacks testing and guessing - giving out speculative info and bickering about this or that.......

I don't want to mess with good sound when I have it.... if there is a glitch I don't want to be the guinea pig. Right now, things are sounding great in my room, but changes to the room are coming so I'll hold off until then before doing new room sweeps, I want it to be worth it for me to go through all the setup and sampling.
I see that you are updated as much as I am. ;)

And you are absolutely right about the very good Bob Pariseau, he is the true Guru of the Anthem world, the one and only. In fact he is my favorite guy at this moment on the Audio world on line. It's like he is a part of your component, the oil that makes everything running just perfect. :)
