I can't speak for Sunfire but I have heard the Anthem P5 and it's a very nice amp but it's huge, weighs a ton, and requires two seperate AC outlets.

I own the Parasound A51 and I love it! I prefer it's sound over the Anthem.

how would you compare the sound of the A51 and P5? In what way does the A51 sound better? Is one any brighter sounding then the other?

For power, the Anthem P5. It is reported that it can melt a fork without breaking down (you should not try to melt a fork, and in the occurance that one would try the protect mode would kick into effect to protect the load).

I wouldn't think the Parasound would sound "better", both are very well designed piece of equipment that should perform as neutral components not affecting the sound acoustics unless the limits of the amplifier are pressed. It is most likely the Anthem can dish out more dynamics at high SPLs than any of the other amplifiers listed.

I think the Anthem is a bit brighter sounding then the A51. I also feel the A51 is a bit more refined sounding. But these are only my opinions. You need to hear all three and let your own ears decide which one sounds the best to you.

What about the Krell Showcase, any opinion on that amp?
