Anthem AVR 2.1 HDMI

Hi all...I was looking at purchasing an Anthem MRX520 but not sure if it's worth spending $1,400 on a receiver only to replace a year later when 2.1 HDMI capability comes out. I was at a high-end audio dealer the other day and he told me the newer Anthem's are modular, where you can physically replace the HDMI ports, so when 2.1 comes out next year they can just replace the board. Is this true?

If you doubt the dealer, ask Anthem? What do you particularly need HDMI 2.1 for, tho?

Future proof is somewhat an oxymoron the last buncha years Just to look at the details https://hdmi.org/spec/hdmi2_1 and realisitically why worry about that stuff now?
