Seriously, I have no life.
I just recently upgraded my HTIB speakers and have been a little disappointed. The receiver does not drive them as well as the smaller ones. That is why I felt more power was necessary. It will get quite loud as is but that is not what I was looking for. Too bad after the power is added the speakers will hold it back. I can tell everyone replying is passionate about audio and want to give big thanks for the info.
Perhaps you have room issues that is holding you back? Or speakers issues?
Adding power is not the first solution.

How would this work?
LPA1 to amp the L, R and Center
Replace the center with NHT - Classic Two Center-Channel Speaker
Replace L, R with NHT - Classic Four Loudspeaker
Replace Sub with NHT - Classic Twelve Subwoofer
Nice chocolate red color all replacements also but good deal.

Then take the wife shopping. :D
You need to test drive the speakers someplace at least, then perhaps at home if possible, before you buy them. Speakers is what you are really listening to, and the room they are in.

NHT's are sweet though. I would buy them sight unseen.(heard unheard):D

I think that hearing unheard would be the equivalent to sight unseen.:D

(just giving you a hard time there bud.:D)

Audition unheard would also work.;)

I am now bankrupt.

I am having to decide on keeping new receiver
14x16 room
Onkyo 805
LPA1 AMP
NHT sub12
5 bass shakers (I luv them big bang in the low end)
NHT Classic 2c
NHT Classic 4 L+R
4 JBL Balconey for surrounds
Hatachi 65inch 1080i monitor
Dish Network HD
HD capable HTPC
HDDVD player Toshiba HD-A2 (DEAD End Hardware I know)
Source Audio DTS 1.5 Core DD 768 only, into the forseable future
Did I miss anything?

Sound quality of the 805 is very good with exception of some lipsync. The oddysey setup does most of what is advertised in my oppinion. I need to send the unit back due to broken componet video switch anyway. So is there an alternative with equilavant SQ for about 1/2 the price ($350) new that would leave some money for room treatments or BD player? HDMI and lossless audion is not priority at this point. Most of my HD movies are played from my HTPC anyway and my next source the dish 611 hace better PQ with the D to A conversion occuring at the dish box.
I have considered the lmc1 refurbed from Emotive with the upgrade option? The Pio elite92 looks nice but will cost too much for pre/pro. I am about to connect the vsx815 so keeping it is an option also mabey EQ it some?

Could wait on the LMC2 but it will be over budget and if it is avalible before June or July it will be a shock.
