I think its time we start an online petition for monster to stop harassing businesses that use the word monster in it. Especially ones that have nothing to do with AV gear.

Anyone think its a good idea..Maybe it might get them thinking about avoiding bad publicity.

I think it's a great idea - I even looked into starting one up myself, but just haven't had the time to work on it. Who knows, it might do some good, it might just be an exercise in futility, but so is sitting back on our haunches and not doing anything.

Shouldn't the relatives of Brom Stoker, Mary Shelley or even Homer sue for stealing the term "monster" since they used it first?

Godzilla and King Kong have been around longer. Maybe we could get some Japanese film makers to sue them or at least make a movie where Godzilla squashes and burns the Monster Cable headquarters building.

OFFTOPIC: As an odd piece of trivia TOHO Studios [the folks that make Godzilla pictures] actually gets permission from various companies before Godzilla destroys their Headquarters. Somehow I doubt Monster Cables would play nice with that request.

Who knows what the agreement was though. I read the legal papers between Disney and Monster, and Monster would have been CLEANED out. They would have lost most of their copyright power.

Too bad Disney didn't pursue that avenue as I am sure they were aware of Monster's tactics. A prime opportunity for Disney to put an end to this Monster madness and help the little guy at the same time.

Don't be fooled by Disney's potential or clout. Publicly their arrangement is TTBOMK unknown. All I can say is all the Disney movies I've got on BD have come with an insert for Monster Cables.
