Just bought Peter Gabriel, Play The Video DVD. Another excelent sounding example of DTS.

I have to agree. The sound of the DTS track is jaw-dropping. Crystal clear and rockin'!

I have this DVD and for some reason I simply can't get the volume up enough to rattle the room! I put in an oder DVD and I could probably blow out the windows of my room, but the Gabriel I reach max volume and it's just loud, but not blasting.
Is this DVD recorded at a lower level? It had me worried that I bought a too weak amp for my speakers, until I put in an other DVD and melted my ears since I forgot to turn down the volume first....

Which track are you playing, DD or DTS? Some have had problems with the DTS track.

Yeah, the DTS portion is a bit lower in volume (wider dynamic range in DTS, I suppose), so you do have to crank it a bit.

Does anyone else get unusually boomy bass with the DTS "Don't Give Up"? It's one of the few music tracks in my collection that does that. I'm forced to lower the bass levels just for that song -- the rest of the DVD is fine.
