Nice looking and cheap. I wonder if the cabinets can take a good knock. Nope I don't need them, but would like to hear impression. Are ya gonna try them Z? :p:)

The cabinets should Fail the knock test - due to the price, it would be a small miracle
if there was any bracing - also due to price, damping material should be limited.

They are short for tower speakers - Dimensions: 30" H x 7.1" W x 9.5" D > and weigh in
at 30 lbs.

NO, I am not interested in checking them out - we will leave that
for you to handle.:) Have fun and enjoy the adventure!

No can do the 52's are the best for me right now. My recent CD by Linda Ronstant sounded great last night. WHOA. I bet CNET will like them. :)

I do not know who the OP is! However, I will look for him.

Anyway, the Dayton speakers will have many fans out there - and Dayton will
move a lot of them.

No doubt why they released them just prior to the holidays. Can't imagine what these will sell for come black Friday WOOT! I also predict they will sell like proverbial hotcakes.

Hi. My name's suspicious. Those look like the same woofers as the ones in the 652, which have absolutely no bass in a sealed cabinet. Doubling up on woofers doesn't give you deeper bass--just more sensitivity. My guess is that these sound as bad as the 652's. I have to presume that they tweaked the woofer parameters a little to work in a ported cabinet, but 45 Hz? Suspicious. But I wonder how much they cost with my wholesale account....?

I'm glad I 'm not the only one that feels this way about the 652's. I expected more from a 6 1/2 driver.

I bought a pair for S&G (and I can't resist a bargain) when the media hoopla first hit, played 'em for about two days, and now they are in the cellar until I can figure out who might be able to appreciate them. Perhaps one of my less audiophile friends in need of a small system.

Every inch of those screams "I can say I have towers". Tweeter looks like it belongs in a boombox, and that foam on the woofer mounting flange... yeah that's old school. They're not expensive, and they're not expensive.
