Analog bass management - Yammy 663

Okay.. so, just sold my ICBM and a week later, picked up a record player (great deal could not pass it up!). Now I am shooting myself for getting rid of the ICBM as I have no analog bass management (figured did not need it anymore since now I can pass DSD and LPCM from DVD-A over HDMI with the Oppo/Yammy...)

OKay...so here is my "work arround" (PLEASE let me know if you can see a better way)

(All with RCA cables)
From phono to phono preamp
From preamp to preamp in on the yammy
(Speakers wired to Yammy will play full-range signal)
then preamp out to the sub, then let the sub do crossover.

Downsides: A full range signal will still go from my phono to M22s (NOT full range speakers) and I will have to unplug the LFE-in to the sub and plug-in the preamp-out cables every time I want to listen to a record. (plus hit the switch from "LFE" to "Normal" (not a big deal))

Is there something like the ICBM that is only 2 channels? I feel like I might be even able to build something with a fix x-over at say 100hz that will sit between the phono pre amp and the preamp in....

Ooohhhh....another idea.

How about have the R/L RCA to appropriate PREAMP IN and also combine them for PREAMP SUB IN, then the full signal will get sent to the sub, switch SUB to "Normal" so it will do the cross over, no swapping cables!

Now the only issue left is my speakers getting the full range signal.

Waddya Think?

Won't your 663 do bass management on stereo analog inputs? CD/Tape/VCR etc. If you have your main speakers set to Small in the Yamaha and Sub=Yes then it should redirect the bass from any stereo sources to the subwoofer.

The only reason people need something like the ICBM is for DVDA/SACD or other 3-7 channel devices that don't include their own bass management ability.

Well, I do *have* to test that first :D . I cannot find conclusive info online and I do not have a ready analog source to hook up (I guess I can use my DVD player when I get home.) Some people say it will do it, other say it will not do analog bass management. I am preparing for the worst.

It would be *awesome* if it does analog bass management.

I am a dummy. 663 does bass management on an analog source. (As proven by my Wii)
