A week ago, I bought this beefed up version of the Audiotrak Prodigy HD2 soundcard from Partsconnexion. The HD2 is a German made high quality stereo soundcard. Partsconnexion further modified it with various audiophile components. (Costed me $350 )

After some burn-in, I found myself listening to music through my PC more than listening to music through my Cambridge 540. Don’t get me wrong, the Cambridge is still a better player (Just by a little bit). But my collections of 300+ lossless APE files are now sounding better than ever. Improvements included better dynamic, improved control and higher resolution in bass, mid and mid-high.

My desktop has transformed into a convenient jukebox.

Thanks for the info but using a PC as source.

Any noise issue? All the hard drive, fans and CPUs makes me feel unease.

No. Noise is not a problem at all. In fact this prodigy HD2 is more quiet than my 2 years old KingRex USB Dac. Much darker background compared to the KingRex and a sweeter mid range.

Audiotrak stated that the soundcard uses some sort of noise filtering system. That must have done the trick.
