I need more power for my M3-si's. Also I want to continue using my current amp, the "BiAmp eminence 300". It is a wonderful amp, it is rare, you can't find anything about it online. It is 100 wpc into 8 ohms, and comparable to amps costing $1500+.
I am going to use it to run the mids/tweets and I want to find an amp of about 200 wpc to run the woofers. I had been thinking of an Adcom GFA-555 but I think I want better quality then that. I was thinking maybe 2 Rotel RB-970s, each bridged mono, that would give me 180 wpc and they are a step up from Adcom, also you can find the 970 for as low as $100, that would only cost me $200 which would keep the wife happy (to some extent). One problem with that is that the M3-si's are 6 ohm spks and the specs say 8 ohm min. for the Rotels when bridged. Any thoughts on this, or about deals on similar equipment?
