hi,
im new to the forums and was looking for some advice.
i have a yamaha htr -5940 receiver with 100 watts per channel (6.1) and i also have a dayton apa 150 amplifer. i hooked up various speakers to the APA and i realized that my receiver does not have any where near the sound of my APA even when i split the watts on the apa to like 75 it still sounded way louder than my yamy at less watts .. here lies my problem:
i want my speakers to be louder as they handle a lot more watts than my receiver can apparently put out (all handle 100 but my center, which handles 150) well it says it puts out 100 but the sound is much better on the apa at just 75 watts . the apa sounds great but i can only hook up two at a time to it.
i dont want a new receiver because the only thing i can find that puts out more watts is like 600 700 dollars which im not trying to drop.
is there a solution to this problem maybe this emotiva LPA-1 7 Channel
Audio Power Amplifier it has 7 channels. can this be used with my receiver to give me more power to my speakers and still give me 6.1 sound.
can you even play all channels at once? no clue what a preamplifer really does i guess conditions the signal or something like that so i dont guess that would help.
please help guys i know my athena speakers can sound soo much better with the right power as when i hooked them up to the apa
i need speaker wire connects on what ever it is because my receiver doesnt have all the outs just the ins, line and speaker wire
