How about the emotiva XPA-2? I believe that would get me 300 wpc for the mains.
IIRC. XPA2 is a well regarded amp and handles 4 ohms. Their stuff should be able to take a dip here and there and they have considered this from speakers.

The XPA1 according to Lonnie can take 2 Ohms although not officially stated because of potential abuse etc. People always try to run lower etc..

If you want to give something a shot that will not break a sweat on the low impedance and wide phase angle loads try the Yamaha PS3500 amp.

The interesting thing to take away from Yamaha's design is that while it is in part a SMNP (switcher amp) the frequency range is down 1.5 dB at 50Khz.

This means they have figured out a really good HF filter for their design.

If you have Amazon Prime get one. If you don't like it put it back in the box and just pay the shipping.

At least that way you will see what additional clean power could do for you over your Rotel.

PS3500 I believe is one of the few pro amps that start off no spinning fans until it needs to.

That is a nice choice too!

Thanks everyone for the replies. I think I will just stay with my Rotel.

I am currently running my 5 channel system with B&W 804D in the front and 683's in the rear. I am powering them with a Rotel 1095 amp, which has 200 watts per channel. Even though the maximum recommended power for the 804's are 200 watts, would I be better served to add a 2 channel amp, say 300 watts, when I listen to 2 channel music? I would keep the rears powered with the Rotel. I know B&W needs a lot of power.
I know you've already made your choice, but I thought I'd point out that going from 200 watts to 300 watts will net you a crest SPL gain of 1.5db

so if you really did want to make the next step up, you'd probably want to go from 200 watts to 800 watts. That would net you an additional 6db of crest SPL

But at that point you're getting into melted voice coils territory.

For 800 WPC, I am sure I would be getting into serious $$$.
