That sounds like you support on board integration between CPU and GPU. It might not be the result of on-die extensions but it sure looks good for some level of graphics integration with the CPU.
Here is what AMD EVP Henri Richard said about that topic:

"That’s not for the short-term. That requires a lot of R&D and development, but it’s clearly a possibility. That is of course something that a lot of customers will be asking us about, and that we’ll be starting to think about. "
I think they will. But only time will tell. We're reaching the limit of silicone's usefulness in CPUs. There will be lots of clever ways to integrate mutliple cores with more and more parellel extensions.
Until we start making transistors out of lasers or DNA or something like that.
It's interesting to speculate, Wndr. But I suppose it could go either way.
