Amazon just announced its autorip service which automatically gives customers free MP3s for the CDs they have bought. This is true only for CDs purchased after 1998 and only works with some labels. Still it seems like a cool feature:

Buy a CD from Amazon after 1998? Check Amazon Cloud Player for MP3 tracks | Ars Technica

Edit: I now have 244 albums in my amazon cloud player. I tend to buy CDs and rip them into apple lossless to stream around my house. The files in the cloud player are high quality MP3 files (256 kbps). The cool thing is I can play them anywhere were I have access to a browser. This will be great at work since I don't keep personal files on my work computer.

This is so very cool. There were some technical reasons why it was difficult for me to load my music onto my work computer (laziness was part of the technical problem!). Now I have access to all the CDs I purchased from Amazon. Amazon is going give Apple a run for its money when it comes to music with this new feature.

@J garcia: I missed your earlier post on this feature by the way when I posted this.
