You're well ahead of me. I'm only at 117, but I bet we're nowhere near the master coughAdamcough. :p
I'm at a measly 84, and that's with them counting all Subscribe and Save items as separate orders. I'm so ashamed. :D

Btw, 263 orders?! That's pretty darn impressive, Phillip!

where do you guys see your order #'s?

i tried to do the report thing, and it only goes back to 2010

i didn't get the prime thing because shipping to me is a difference of 52 days vs 60 days. :)
99% my orders exceed the minimum anyway. if they don't a couple of eneloop batteries fix that right up (i have black hole in my house eating the eneloops)

Hi, Mike. I went to "Your Orders" and "Your Account," and there's a drop down box on the top right for "Orders placed in:". You can select the year and hit "Go." At the top of the list, it will say the total number.

18 orders last year, for a total of 39 items. 17 so far this year, for 34 items.

Or your spouse doesn't realize they are rechargeable and throws them away.

Not that I've ever had that problem or anything :D

Only 84 orders since 2004. I'm an amateur compared to you guys.:D
I had forgotten about half the stuff I've ordered over the years.

This spring I tried Prime using the 30 day free trial.
While it did have it's good points, I found that the free 2 day shipping didn't apply to all items.
It always seemed to be a choice between the lowest priced item /or using Prime.
For example, I always try to find used, inexpensive books to read; they never qualified for Prime.
We already get free video on demand along with our Dish Network.

Dang, I'm only at 38 orders for the year. But I'm on pace to beat last year's 46. But then I tend to bundle items together into a single order. I also use it for work since I support operations all over North America.

I do use Amazon Prime for the basement TV since the antennae reception down there is rather spotty. It is nice for watching episodes of Firefly. Or if you want to watch really cheesy movies that you wouldn't actually pay to rent.

It has paid for itself for me. But then, I hate to store shop. Especially at Christmas. I will so be shopping online for Christmas. Generally, after Thanksgiving, I try to avoid stores if I can.

Speaking of amazon. First - Disclaimer I don't have prime, nor I see the value proposition there (at-least now).
Now I place an order on Oct 20th for 6 items - small items with total about a $100. chose to ship with free "super" shipping. All the items were in stock and ether sold by amazon or fulfilled by them. This means all of them are in amazon warehouse already guaranteed.

Order has an estimate to be delivered up to Wed Oct 30th... This means if I am lucky they have to ship it express on Monday. We shall see but I am pessimistic about this proposition.

:(

Usually they are quite good, but it's maybe part of their strategy to push more people into prime for faster delivery...

Well looks like they will start charging more for Prime as well... Got email this morning that it will go from $79 to $99 next year. Still a good deal, but not quite as good as before. Though I read the rumor that said they'll also be adding a music streaming service as part of Prime so maybe that's how they intend to offset the additional cost.

I continue to order stuff from amazon and they continue to delay free orders until much bigger order is due to leave the warehouse. Sometime the delays could be upto 2-3 business day (2 more including weekend, if you ordered on late Friday)

I think this is amazon a) saving costs b) pushing none-prime members towards prime.....

Still, amazon could be good price for deal hunters with 3rd party tools like 3 camels

So shipping upgrade could be worth it if one orders lots of stuff. Still Amazon streaming and ebooks not much of the value for me just yet

Prime is 99.00 bucks a year now- not a big deal for me as I order 30-40 items a year and it still makes sense

Are you sure that's Amazon or the carrier? In my "big" city, I get things right on time, only very rarely a day late, and sometimes even early. In my small town when I have stuff sent there, the carrier DOES try to combine shipments into the fewest trips which causes delays of 2-3 days sometimes. Right after Xmas I paid for next day delivery and it took 3 days - I was furious so Amazon refunded my shipping charge.

Yes, prime may be the answer but only if you do a lot of shopping over the year for orders less than $25 or now $35. And, not everything is covered by prime; sure an awful lot are but not everything.
To me, the reason to use Prime is not the free shipping (as I always want another CD or BD or book or whatever to get up to the free shipping anyway, which often is also super fast if the items are all in stock; sometimes, it is next day, and it is almost always before their claimed date that I should expect it), but for the streaming video. It is cheaper than Netflix, and, for me, has been more reliable as well. The free shipping is just a bonus, not a big deal at all to me. I would never, ever pay for it just for the shipping.

It isn't just free shipping, it is free 2 DAY shipping for Prime items. That alone is worth the price and I easily make up for the cost in total number of orders. I see it the other way - the streaming service is the bonus to me, since I was paying for the free shipping long before they added the streaming.

Both Frys and Best Buy have started offering free shipping as well.

The two day shipping is the real draw for me, but I order a boatload of stuff from Amazon. Obviously that's not for everybody, but that's originally why I joined back in high school. Plus I have my GF and parents on my account as well, so we all end up making use of it. I end up using the streaming more and more these as well, especially with the Rokus. I've even used it in school when the teacher didn't leave enough for students to do. Nothing like some cartoons or Disney movies to keep them occupied. Overall I find it well worth the money.

Yep, have the GF on my account too. My parents have their own.

The free shipping that you get by meeting the cost requirement is not 2 day, it is ground. In most cases that's not a problem, I can wait, but once you get used to 1 and 2 day shipping...

Interesting. Everything I've ordered that was ""rime Eloigible" was free shipping and has always arrived in two days.

But, I've noticed that some smaller items, such as movies and CD's, when I buy their "Prime eligible" offering, it's more expensicve than if I order from a third party vendor. Yes, I pay shipping but that plus the cost of the item still comes in less than had I ordered the annointed item. ...and it usually arrives in a week or so, For a few bucks in my pocket, I can wait.

Many things I get within 2 days with the ordinary free shipping. And the 2 day shipping is not going to come in 2 days if the item is not in stock, so there is no guarantee in any case.

I just ordered something yesterday and got it today. Rarely do I order things that aren't in stock unless the deal is too good to pass up.
