Amazon Alexa connecting to denon x2000 for music playback

I did a search and was not able to get any threads on the alexa connecting to a avr. I believe it should be possible to connect through the wifi router and have the alexa come up in the network similar to the media player with my PC. The other way would be to use an external blue tooth receiver and have alexa connect to that. Problem is that the blue tooth needs line of sight, if I brought the alexa outside it would be difficult to use. Hopefully someone has done this, thanks.

Seems your avr doesn't have built in wifi, or at least I assume so from this blurb on the product description at Denon : "Connect the AVR-X2000 to your home network via an Ethernet cable or an affordable WIFI adaptor or wireless Ethernet bridge and open up a whole new world of listening enjoyment."

You might even be able to stream via a wifi equipped bluray player over DLNA/wifi if you can't hardwire it or don't have an adapter.

Yes, I have the avr hard wired into a router via a cat 5 cable, I can play music through the media player or apple I tunes through the router to the avr, I am assuming that I should be able to do the same thing with an alexa,

I thought Alexa was DLNA capable but not an owner. I was thinking it should work through your existing network/connection, tho (or its somewhat useless IMHO).

Ah, thought you were having issues with it. I'm sure if it is DLNA capable it will work fine and without using bluetooth....
