Am I on the right track?

Hi all. I recently caught the bug and want to put together a decent, entry-level home theater. My current hardware:
Vizio M70-C3 tv
Denon AVR-X 1000 receiver
All speakers are Polk
Series 2 monitor 12's L&R front
PSW 505 sub
Unknown model Polk center and bookshelf speakers to round it off.
Using the tv to switch inputs with optical cable carrying audio out from tv to receiver. I plan to switch to an ARC hookup.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Cheers.

You can certainly do better if you want to upgrade. Not sure what you are asking though.

I'm just wondering if my equipment is any good for a decent first system. I plan to upgrade as finances permit. Mostly the speakers are what I'm wondering if they are any good.

If you like the sound then you are good to go. Upgrading is another story to start with. To upgrade there is a lot options. What you should do when you upgrade is that you go audition as many speakers as you can and see what you like and want for your set price range.

As was said, if you like how it sounds, it is good. There will always be something better. Peace and goodwill.
