Hey Mtry,

I'm in the same boat except I don't have any hi-def stuff, I'm waiting to see what happens in the next few months, manufacturers pay close attention to the Christmas season (sales) to shape strategy for next cycle (quarter).

Well, the gift is money designated for high def DVDs I will wait too, of course but it is getting harder to put it off

I am still holding off until a clear winner emerges or I can get a combo player and not be stuck when one of them looses. Also, I think most of the players out at this time leave a lot to be desired as far as price per performance goes. I am waiting.

I think a lot of folks are in a holding pattern, I personally think that players on the market are too expensive for the performance, too buggy and we're entering a new sales quarter, let's see what they'll bring out. I personally bought into Mini-Disc, wow that was dumb. Never again, I exorcised my self of the "gotta-have-it-right-now demon never to fall into that trap again!
