Thanks for posting the pics. My screwy computer won't access thumbnails, so this is one of the few member home systems I've been able to see....and I'm duly impressed! (Not to mention, envious.) I agree with you that speaker placement and absorbers are crucial in maximizing your sound quality potential. I wish I had that luxury in our multi-use family (great)room.

You've done a terrific job of screen room conversion...I can see LOTS of work there. I'll chime in with the others...your setup is ultra-clean. I also really like that butcher-block coffee table. Did you make it?

Finally, I assume with your nick and SRV's picture hangin' there, that you play the git. Pro or for fun?

Do you have invisible speaker wires?

Hi Ax-man,

I hate to be a doubting Thomas, but with the last set of pictures you posted, one can see both the back area and the side area of the front speakers and I see no wires running to the speakers what-so-ever. I agree that you have a great looking set-up and many have commented on your ability of hiding wires. But from what I can see, the reason we can't see them is because they are not there. Please clear up my confusion, where are your speaker wires?

Westcott thanks for the compliments, this A/V stuff can get to be like an infectious disease ... never quite happy so lets try to tweak some more! (I love it!) You know I did have the speakers in a little tighter off of the side walls but my ears told me that being wider was indeed better, I'm thinking somehow the CD/DVD shelves on the right side and the plantation shutters on the left side act somewhat as a diffuser and it seems to me I'm just not getting the side reflections had they been against bare walls. Bringing the mains out into the room most certainly made a huge difference regarding imaging and sound stage although getting the toe-in right was quite a chore ... my next project may be just as you suggest and play with the width. I have since placed the sub tighter to the TV and can't tell much of a difference, seems like the best location after the sub crawl was right mid-sidewall and it will probably end up being there but right now work has kept me from spending the time on the system lately, there will be another EP600 added this winter and probably then both units will be placed in the opposite mid-sidewall locations. I'll certainly keep you posted.

Rjbudz I'm glad you are able to view the pics and no I do not play but I am a huge fan of Stevie Ray and his famous tone ... RIP Stevie!

Astrodon the speakers are most definitely plugged in ...

...and sounding great! (All wiring/cabling is in-wall)

Minnichs thanks a ton, I appreciate yours and everybody else's compliments. Lurking and hanging around this site along with a couple of other sites is where I gathered up all of my information to be able to put our system together ... this site is simply awesome.

Really nice job Ax-man. As I recall the room is a former enclosed porch. Did you do the work yourself? In any case, you created a great space for music and HT.

The photos make me miss the EP-600. I'd love to hear an all Axiom setup like that some day. That is the problem with an ID company from Saskatoon, no way to audition.

Wow, congratulations are in order. That is more than a theater/music room, its an Experience Room. And that is so much better in my opinion.

I do share your enthousiasm for this forum (and "out of this world" HT room). Lots of very good articles and ideas on Audioholics!
