For me getting the right DAC has never been about chasing better SNR or THD, but simply the right set of features and reliable functionality. Since I have a fairly noisy RF environment, having balanced connections helped hugely to get rid of my active monitors' hiss. Having a good headphone amp is another must-have and ideally, it needs to have dedicated volume control. The catch is to get all the stuff I want at a reasonable price and unfortunately, hi-end DACs like RMI doesn't fit that criterion.
