This is what I have come up with so far.

The TV is a 65" Mitsibishi HD unit.
Hughes HD DirecTV receiver
DirecTV Tivo
Denon 2805 Receiver
Sony 200 Disc Changer
Panasonic Progressive DVD / HDD recorder (120 hours of HD space)
Sony VCR (don't remember model, it's old)
Boston VR1 Front speakers
Boston VRM Center channel
Energy 8" powered sub
Bose (I know, I know, but they are left over from my old system) Direct Reflecting bookshelf speakers for the rear channel

Still working on wire management, since the complete overhaul a couple weeks ago. Upgraded from an older Onkyo unit from 1997, and Bose / Boston Micro speakers. I want a larger sub, and better rear channels, but the Bose actually do a fair job as rear channels, so I will wait until the wallet recharges.

We are doing the whole theater theme in the living room, with wall sconces and theater seating to come. The antique projector was my wife's idea. I printed the signs on a color laser printer, and made the velvet ropes myself from parts at Wal Mart of all places (cost about $10 for both, very cheap compared to buying real ones). Looking for a popcorn machine and something to fill the void above the TV.

I like it I think you are doing a nice job, making good use of the space.
I know you are gung ho, just make sure you don't try to pack too much stuff in that room, its fairly small. You don't want it to be cluttered or distracting either.

Space is at a premium in our living room. There is another 8 feet or so of room to the right (behind the camera basically), which is the entry to the house. We are making that area the "lobby" of the theater, with the popcorn machine, a bench, and a few other decorations.

We replaced the couch this last weekend with a theater-seating type unit, with four seats, cupholders, etc.

I am considering the location for the wall sconces, which is one the final pieces of decor for the room. Option 1 is on either side of the TV, replacing the poster and the DTS signs. Option 2 would be on either side of the fireplace. Suggestions? I was also considering some lighting from behind the TV that shines upwards on the wall, but can be dimmed when watching a movie.

One more thing...anyone here own a popcorn machine for their theater? We are looking at them on eBay, but there are so many different models. Is a 4oz unit big enough?

Thanks.
