Advise on receiver selection

I'm trying to decide on a receiver to go with a 50" Panasonic Plasma with the following requirements or wants:

HDMI inputs
ability to power 2 additional rooms
RF remote
ability to power the following speaker set-up
Paradigm Monitor 11 fronts
Paradigm CC390 center
Paradigm ADP390 rears
Velodyne V-1012-B sub woofer

I'd like to keep my budget under 1k

I was looking at the Onkyo TXNR 708 and TXNR 1008
but wasn't sure about the remote being IR or RF.

I'm open for suggestions.

Don't get too technical with me or it'll go over my head.

If you like the Onkyo, why not stick with it and get yourself an RF remote and station/emitters that way you can stick with the gear you like? Yamaha has receivers with Zone 2 & 3s.

What are you planning on running in the other rooms?

I've decided to go with a new receiver, an AV Receiver
RX-A700 by Yamaha that has HDMI V1.4a. I'll use my existing Onkyo Amp M-282 and run it with a Niles SSVC4 speaker selector to send audio to 3 other rooms. I'll also add a Logitech Harmony 900 remote which will also control the master volume of the 2nd room source running through the Onkyo.
