Advice on New Flat Screen HDTV

Help, I am looking for suggestions on a new flat screen HDTV. I have looked at several in the 34" range including Phillips 34pw8502 and Toshiba 34HF84. They both came with good reviews, but I am willing to consider all brands.

Anyone with any recent experience I would love to hear from you.

IMO this has a better picture than any plasma in this price range. Check it out.

I think he is looking at CRT televisions, not flat panel displays. I agree though, LCD has a ton of 'pop' to it and the Sharp products tend to look very sharp... especially when side by side to a plasma display.

But, $3,600.00 is not small chunk of change either considering a 42" plasma can be had for about half the price - and CRT is less still in the 34" size.

Opps, I saw flat and ingoned the screen. My in-laws have the Panasonic 34" widescreen HDTV and it looks terrific. I personally favor Toshiba and Panasonic CRT's over Sony. Nothing wrong with Sony I just think the Toshiba and Panasonic are better values. You pay a little extra for that Sony name.
