Advice needed for getting 4k to play correctly, using PS5, Denon x3700H and TCL tv

I have tried everything that I could think of, but I'm unable to get true 4k, even though all 3 pieces have the capability.
Tv and receiver have the lasted firmware updates. If I plug the ps5 straight into the tv, I get amazing video but no sound from the receiver. No problem, ran a digital line from tv to receiver, plugged into Tv input, still no joy! Did some research on the receiver, found out that there is a dedicated 8k input, so tried that to see what I could get, no joy still.
If the Ps5 is plugged straight to the tv, I can use the ps5 to test the 1440p. Surprise, it passed, but then I only have tv speakers for sound.
All of the cables are 4k high speed, the longest is 6' to feed the tv. I have tried to pay attention to how my setup is, as far as connections, routing, equipment but it looks like I have missed something.
I guess I should have listed my setup, please pardon my inattention:
TCL-75R648-8k
Denon-X3700H-8k- 9.1
Polk-R700 for front
Polk-Xt15 for surround side and rear
Klipsch- Rt500SA for Dolby Atmos
Polk-PSW108-x2 for sub
Bose-301- set up as zone 2
Polk-CSI A6 for center channel
The front left and right , the Atmos speakers are pre-out from the receiver, feeding the Audiosource amps

You might try using an HDMI switch to send HDMI to both the TV and the receiver. There may be some processing going on that is messing up the signal on either the TV or receiver. Take a look at this thing.

Also I really hope you aren't high-pass filtering the R700 speakers to those little Polk PSW108 subs. The R700s are very likely more capable in bass than those subs. Those subs are not a good fit for those speakers. Get some subs worthy of those speakers!

This model TV does not support HDMI 2.1 on the HDMI #4 port. This is a shame because this is the eARC port. If you do not need eARC for TV apps and use the PS5 for all streaming, connect the PS5 to the 8K port on the Denon and then the Monitor1 output port on the Denon to either HDMI #1 or #2 on the TV. Go into the Denon settings and set the HDMI #7 port to 8K Enhanced. Make sure you are using Ultra Certified HDMI cables for 4K @120Hz. See if that works.

If you want to use eARC from the TV for its apps to play Dolby Atmos, you will have to connect the PS5 directly to it on HDMI port #1 or #2, connect the Denon to HDMI #4 port and make the appropriate settings for eARC to work. Those settings are different for every different brand of TV. While eARC isn’t tied to HDMI-CEC by design, some TVs do require it to be ON for eARC to work.

No I'm not filtering any of the speakers. The subs work just fine for me, I have no problem getting the windows rattling.
I'll do some checking on the HDMI switch, never thought of that.

Some of these TV and receiver settings to get eARC to work are bulls#%t. Ok, so connect the PS5 to HDMI #1 on the TV and the Denon to HDMI #4. Turn on HDMI Control in the Denon. Then, go into the TV settings and select Control Other Devices. It should detect the Denon and then check the eARC HDMI #4 box.

After the CEC setting is made, go to the TV’s Audio settings and set the Digital Output Format to Passthrough and set the Speaker setting from TV Speakers to Off so audio will be sent over eARC.

You will also want to turn on Device Link in the PS5. With everything set up properly, pressing the PS button on the PS5 controller should turn everything on and switch the TV and receiver to the designated source inputs and the uncompressed multichannel PCM signal from the PS5 should be sent over eARC. Results will vary of course.

If going the HDMI switch route, make sure it supports HDMI 2.1 4K &120Hz or what is the point of it? Those unfamiliar with connecting next gen consoles to capable TVs and using eARC don’t understand that it is not nearly as simple as connecting a disc player, set top box or streamer directly to a receiver. It’s a mess.

Well, respectfully, for starters smaller subwoofers don’t dig as deep as larger ones. In the case of the 108, it’s spec says 35hz. That’s not very good considering your towers are rated to play deeper than that. I would also not expect the 108’s to be able to keep up dynamically to those towers. And while the reserve series is very nice, Polk has never made subwoofers that we’re considered very good.(yes I do have one somewhere in my house too, a bit larger though). They tend not to be very linear, or controlled, and very “one note-y”.
So imo, it would be worth looking into something more qualitative. Just guessing a smaller form factor is in your interest, so I’d look at the RSL speedwoofer 10s. It’s one of the few smaller subs that will approach 20hz. They’re also very clean and articulate. That would be just a start, and just a few thoughts!

How do Sir, I was not offended at all, just curious as to why it was suggested to change them. It makes sense to me now. I have an Audiocontrol C101 equalizer that I bought in 1975 when I was discharged from the Corps, its not hooked in as there are few receivers that have a tape monitor. That was hooked up to a Marantz receiver, Teac reel-to-reel, Pioneer cassette, can't remember the turn table, driving a pair of Acoustic Research. Still remember how it sounded.
I ramble on too much.

On my Denon I had to go in and choose Enhanced in the Video section to get 4k to work.

That was one I tried, but didn't work out so well. I can get 4k from the ps5 no problem. But now I have to find a programmable remote, seems the TCL is rf instead of ir. Go figure

Be advised this isn't just an issue when connected to PS5...I'm connected to a PC. This issue is related to VRR and fluctuation in frame rate not being handled properly by VRR resulting in pink horizontal lines and occasional flickering on the panel.
