KEW: Thanks for the info. I do have a few dozen of my old LPs and I tried to get back into listening to them, but my old Girard turntable crapped out and I decided not to repair it. Some time in the future I may decide to get back into LPs, but at this point a phono input is not high on the list of importance. If the Integrated that I end up with has a phono input, great, if not, no big deal. Also, if I do end up with Slaks or Murphys , which is likely, I don’t believe I would need custom cabinetry. Like I mentioned previously, all this is predicated on what I can find at a reasonable price when I’m ready to pull the trigger. I will certainly consider your advice regarding purchase of speakers before the integrated.
PENG: Thanks for the info. That’s pretty much what I thought. I think a good used Krell 400xi would be a good choice as I have seen them sell for around 1K. Unless I can find a Yamaha for a good deal less than the Krell, the Krell will probably get the nod. I ruled out several integrated options due to lack of inputs.
Swerd: Duly noted regarding PENG's advice. Also, it's not the size of the Salk HT2-TL, but rather the price that's worrisome. Based upon the reviews I've read of the Salk Song Tower ST, I think it would be a good choice for my main system. Good to know that you feel the same.
