Adding a second Sub possible?

Thank you for your time,

I'm trying to put my home theatre together with the most information at hand but I can't get complimentary answers. My reciever is the PIONEER ELITE VSX-74TXVi Receiver. My speaker package is the BIC Acoustech Home Theater System - 6 Speakers. The Pioneer Elite reciever has ONE slot for a SUB in the back right-I'm trying to add a second Sub but i've been told that unless I split the signal from that sole SUB connection at the reciever it's not possible. Will splitting the signal hurt the amount of bass from the subs? The SUBS will be The Acoustech Cinema Series H100 subwoofer. The reciever is 7.1 and the 7th speaker i'd like to add is a second sub. Is there another slot that would correspond/handle the 2nd Sub or is this possible from one reciever? Can this be done and what's the potential damage done to the speakers/reciever if splitting the signal is the only way?

yes, just split the signal. It won't hurt the sound unless you split it like 15 times.

The 7.1 is 7 speakers, 1 subwoofer. You should not run a subwoofer from a speaker output, unless its a main speaker and your running the subwoofer on the highlevel inputs.

Nevertheless, don't hook your sub up using the speaker level outputs if you have RCA line level ones.

Get a Y-splittyer with 1 male to 2 females and your set.

Thanks for the input!

I had to come to you guys for this answer. I stumbled by C.City and the mole who worked the TV dept wasn't much on elaberating. I'll give it to the mole. He did mention the Y-Splitter but if you're on this site at the same time as me than your input is WORD. Thanks again for your time. I'm really glad to hear that unless split repeatedly it shouldn't affect the quality.

Appreciate it
