I have a Marantz 5013 Receiver hooked up to two Definitive Technology 9020s in Front (also for lows since they 8 inch subs with power amps),Def Tech pro-center 100 Center, and pro-monitor 800 rears. The center is powerful but main channels lack same drive in surround and in 2.0 channel off my turntable. Would adding just a two cgannyto the front mess with the surround, and will it add impact to my 2.0 channel listening?

Not sure an amp would be a huge difference since those towers are efficient with power.

Just because you have some powered towers doesn’t mean a pair of good subs wouldn’t help out. I can recommend HSU and Rythmik. Other options are SVS, Outlaw, and the Monoprice Monolith series.

Don't consider what Def Tec sells as "subs" :) There are much better choices (and they don't need to match your speakers except if you like the look or something),look at the sub specialists like SVS, Hsu, Rythmik, Power Sound Audio, maybe RSL. If the turntable is just low in volume you could raise the source input level a bit to bring it up....

Welcome to AH.

Is your setup properly level matched to all channels with internal test tones?

Yes, I ran the test through the Marantz. I am considering a pre-amp from Emotiva for the turntable.
