Been getting some good information here and have a question about hooking up a Adcom GFA555 Amplifier that I just purchased. I only have one nearby outlet and I also have a SVS sub that is already plugged in the remaining outlet. I understand the amp should be plugged directly into the outlet rather than a powerstrip. Would I be better plugging the sub into the powerstrip and the amp directly into the outlet? I currently have the powerstrip plugged into a Cyberpower surge protector used for computers or audio equipment. I have a Yamaha 659 receiver which is plugged into the back of the Cyberpower. Any suggestions on a solution? Thanks.

I don't know what's right, but I can tell you what I did. I also have only one outlet, so all the components in the rack including the Rotel amp are plugged into the power conditioner, as is the Hsu. The power conditioner, TV and the SVS all go to the wall socket. I haven't tripped the breaker or burned the house down...yet. I'd like a new, dedicated circuit. It's on the list.
