I have a Rotel RC 1070 mated with the RB 1080 and the blue leds are a bit distracting. It's like having a laser shooting across the room.

Ok, it LOOKS like there a slot port on the front of that subwoofer. Is that a port, or just a hole where the radiator is (down firing)?

SheepStar
Sheep, the slot is not a port. The passive radiator from what I understand functions as a port. When I stick my hands in the slot I can feel the surround of the down-firing active driver. But, these little guys are very good subs especially for the money AND the size.

Go to alliedelectronics, digikey or newarkinone and order a bright blue led and see if there's a 12V (or 28V or 5V or whatever you can find, then get a matching LED) circuit in your sub somewhere. Hook it up to that and you now have a blue led.

Well, blue LED or no I have an 8" AR sub complementing my 20-39 PCi and it has worked out perfectly to bolster the SPL in the mid-range LFE. I have had to carefully adjust the gain to get maximum benefit without bottoming out at higher output, but I feel there has been a definite improvement in sound since I added it, especially for music reproduction.

Heh, unless it's my PS2, if I see a blue light... I'll find a way to rip it out. ;)
Ah, I love my Weller :)
