Acapellas set up in a listening room

Hi,

I'm a newby to this site. First post. I have had a chance to hear Acapellas (La Campanella MK 1) in a home. To my ears, they were nothing short of amazing and lifelike. True, I didn't do a blind listening test against other speakers with all other factors being equal (same electronics etc.) But I believe your ears can tell the difference without having all kinds of gear set up to hear a difference.

BTW, I'm not a total believer in just using your ears. I've read other posts on here about using actual sound science and logic for evaluating products, especially when it comes to tweaks, which in general I don't believe in.

MAAadudioguy,

You and the original poster from 2008 are definitely in the wrong place to be discussing such equipment. If it's not Paradigm, Klipsch, Yamaha or Definitive Tech.....you are wasting your time with this crew. They will feed you to the lions.....

..and we don't take kindly to trolls either.

Anyone is open to discuss different brands and designs, only difference here is that we attempt to filter out BS marketing voodoo from the truth with a little science.

That statement really falls apart when you consider that they made the
original poster a moderator but that could be because they were high. :D

A well done horn can sound amazing... Klipsch has some great ones in the reference series, and Yamaha has some pro sound stuff with Horns. Paradigm doesn't make traditional horns but does use waveguides on some of their speakers like the Millenias and the I wish Definitive Tech made horn speakers so we could discuss them as they are the holy grail thanks to the fact that they're sold at best buy and we only know about mid-fi with CDs and $400 receivers.
