A1000 stuck in "Straight" mode

When playing an MP3 file via PS3, which is connected to HDMI 1, i can't seem to change it to either surround or 7-channel stereo that i believe I was able to before. When pressing Movie/Music/Sur.Decode/Straight buttons, it just shows "Not Available" on screen. I can only engage Enhancer and Pure Direct. Help! I want to listen to my MP3s in 7-channel stereo or other DSP modes like Hall in Vienna etc.

Note that when playing MP4 video files or dolby soundtrack of games or blu-ray, i can change the surround modes - just can't do it for MP3s.

Have you read the manual 3 times yet? I'm not trying to be difficult. Its that these new receivers are complicated, the manuals poorly written so it will take many attempts to understand where the manufacturer is coming from. I've read my RX-V1800 manual at lkeast 4 times, experimented with teh receiver to death as it was infintely more complicated than the Technics it replaced. Again if banging your head against the manual prooves fruitless, send out another email to Yamaha..

I can play mp3s through my BluRay player and have the receiver go into 7ch stereo and add the different DSPs. Perhaps, the problme likes with the Playstation in how it outputs the signal to the Yamaha. Either way, you should be able to get what you want from it like I have.
