I like it! I think the best part its your listening chair that is just for you. ;) I would totally do the same thing. lol. By doing this your basically saying, look this is my room. I get the sweet spot. If your don't like it - leave. :p

Yup .When I bring guest's in I let them sit in my chair and I sit on IKEA couch in corner . And them I make them switch back and forth .. If they start out saying Sweet Spot is B/S .. I say sit down and shut up and listen.. and they are not talking anymore when they leave...Again I know I only did a few things right in this room but they work .

Just curious, how long did it take you to build that acoustical diffuser with the wooden blocks? I watched a couple youTube vids on that a while back. I'd be running my patients really thin trying to make one of those.

Think it took me about a week. An hour here and a hour there kinda thing. There was a web site that you list your room's dimensions and it would give you a numerical pattern . I built the box on wall first then transferred the pattern on to the wall and then cut 1 3/4 "x1 3/4" "or what ever a 2x4 really is now a days" into blocks at different lengths as pattern called for. Sanding the fuzzies off the blocks took for ever.. Here are some pictures of the build

Wow, very impressive! nice work.

Your name is a good reflection of your room. Nice job on the diffusion wall. Simple, but time consuming.

The only things I did not make was the chair and the electronic equipment ..

Nice. I've got a long list of projects (most not HT related) that I need to get done. Furniture for the most part.

I've got the pieces of a sub woofer table that I've been trying to build for about a year now. 3 little kids makes time sparse.

Get a biscuit joiner it makes strong and easy joints for wood working. I have a 3 year old and a 1 1/2 year old grandson.. And they have destroyed every store bought table I have had . I built my own tables now and tv stands . Now They jump and dance on it all day. And they can not pull tv stand over ..

Nice. We got a nice kitchen table that was an old cast iron desk bottom (something like that at least) with what the furniture store guy told us was from a rubber tree.

I took one look at the top and told my wife I'd be re-finishing it when the kids got older cause it wouldn't hold up. Would have made my own, but it was a package deal (price didn't change much either) so I went with it. Beautiful, but not a durable finish.

Any brand preference on the biscuit joiner? I've been eyeing a ryiobi (cheap tools, I've had excellent results with), but I've never used one so I don't know what to look for.

I have always had good luck with DeWalt and Bosch when I want an upgrade .. I just treated myself to a Delta table saw.. LOVE IT........... Gave my craftsman table saw to my son and law

I used the old nicad dewalt tools and was less than impressed, but that was a VERY long time ago.

I have a Bosch router that is fantastic. That was the other brand I am considering.

Thanks for the info.

Its cheaper to get a new drill "or what ever" than it is to get replacement NiCad batteries .. I have a good old DeWalt drill with junk batteries .. Just cant throw it away even if its junk now … That's how they get you to upgrade ...Go with the Bosch if you have the $
