The truth is that there really is no other center for me. I'm lucky to have found it.
Well I'm glad my compulsive buying and selling could help unite you and the center you were meant to have :D It really was a great center and IMO the benefits of the center I replaced it with aren't totally night and day at reasonable volumes.

That's the key to this whole thing: using the right tool for the right job. Just to clue everybody else in on this business of the center, it has the same medium Curly Maple finish as a pair of SongTowers I was being given the deal of a life time on. That center also uses the same now out of production LCY ribbon tweeter as those SongTowers. Finding a perfect match like that doesn't happen everyday. I don't think I've ever seen another on the market.

Speaking to the point of the thread: yeah, yeah, yeah ... don't buy what you don't need or can't use but you must be ready to strike when the fire is hot. Let's take Doug as an example. He ought to be buying a TV right now but his fire is nothing but cold ashes being blow around by Adam's hot southern wind. Pffft. :D

oh man that just completely contradicts my op! Ok so, everyone never mind what I originally wrote because when you impulse buy, you can either resale and make money, or end up with the perfect center that has a perfect finish and tweeter that matches the towers that you also just bought on impulse...
In the end it's an expensive fun hobby like any other hobby out there. Don't be afraid to try DIY as well.
