So they omit the expensive power output transformers, and charge $6950 for that :rolleyes:.

I wonder what else has been left out.

Ralph Karsten of Atma-Sphere makes what are probably the best OTL tube amps. One trade off is a pretty high output impedance. I know a guy that runs Atma-Sphere gear, it sounds fine and is well engineered for what it is.

How high is 'pretty high?';):D:eek:
If it runs into Ohms, the FR response will be that of the speaker's FR horrible.

Maybe it would work for a single driver/high impedance 'full range' speaker, something like a Lowther. That seems to be the intended use for such an amp.

The price, however, is absurd. You could put together an entire, excellent performing HT system for that price.
