A question regarding current 1080i

Does anyone know if current shows like CSI, ER, West wing and 1080i are shot with a 1080i camera and hence have a native frame rate of 30 fps or if they are shot as 1080p 24 fps and broadcast as 1080i. I'm curious because it would seem that if the content is natively 24 fps progressive then it should benefit from 3:2 pulldown detection of a decoder like the Nvidia DVD decoder.

I would say they were shot at 1080i.
If I had to guess.

I know that CSI is shot on 35mm film at 29.97fps the others I'm not sure of. Most high end network shows are shot on film either super 16 or 35
16 is ussually shot at 24fps
35 at 29.97
