A pair of DCX 2496s, or something else?

This is my kit list:
PC (music making is my priority, but this doubles as a gaming machine)
Xbox 360 with the HD-DVD addon
HD-DVD (EP35)
32" 1080 LCD
Yamaha RX-V861 (all sound passes through it)
4x Tannoy Reveal 6 (fronts and rears)
Tannoy Reveal 66 (center)
DIY Infinity 12vq sub woofer (in progress)
Behringer EP2500 (to power the sub)

First of all, I need to handle to sub's crossover and equalize it.
The DCX 2496 is highly regarded for this, but only has 3 mono inputs, leaving me with 2 free inputs i could use to equalize the FL/FR speakers.
This would be perfect to make and listen to stereo music. I would stop guessing what the low end sounds like and would have a true picture of the frequency spectrum.

So far so good.

This option would leave me with 2 rear speakers and 1 center needing equalization. Later on I could get another DCX and have a full 5.1 EQued system. Not important for stereo music, but nice for 5.1 audio, be it music, movies or games.

But I wonder if there isn't any other option for the cost of 2 DCXs?
What is your opinion? Is my plan adequate?

The DCX has arrived today, with a ECM 8000.
I haven't even measured the room response, but I allready have a question:

Should I use the stereo link for inputs 1 and 2 (left and right channel)? Or is it best to try and correct each channel on its own?
