A little project I'm working on.

How to win friends and influence peopel..maybe I should write that book *LOL* My apologies Alex...I was unaware of your employment woes.. Me bad!!! ;)
No apologies necessary. That kind of friendly ribbing makes the forum kinda fun. Didn't mean to make you feel bad. You probably saved Dave from having to take the shot himself which is good because he's resting up from carrying that big check to the bank. :)

Ummm ... it's Dave.
Dave's lazy.
He brought the gear into his house.
He put the gear down.
The gear is still there.
We're lucky he took two pic's and posted.
Don't push it. :)
Remarkably accurate.

The room for these is designated for the basement. I have the basement pretty much gutted now. I have to do a bit of electrical work then I can start building again.

But yeah, it's going to be a while.:D

Ouch ... I'm a little sensitive because of my on again off again employment history but if that was a jab I think you scored a TKO. I'll be gunning for ya ... you, you ... well, something nasty. ;)
Sometimes I envy you. I spent the last couple of 90°+ days crawling through, for lack of a better term, an annealing oven. It's a cramped, hot, confined space entry job with room only to kneel, crawl or sit. I should have called in.

WOW! I remember seeing those in stores back in the early '70s. You had to take your shoes of first before you could walk in the door. :D

Well, it's been one year and four months. I have an update. I finally found somewhere to put this stuff since I brought it into the house. I picked this up today.

This should get me back on track but the dedicated room in the basement is still a pipe dream.

Nice Dave and better late than never.

So you are going to put the vintage gear in there? Looks like it would hold all of your regular gear. Where did you get it?

The vintage gear goes in there. There regular gear is set up pretty decent right now.

I took my truck in to a local shop to get the remote starter fixed and I saw it in the showroom. It was much less expensive than the racks I was originally looking at.

Thanks for keeping us up to date on the ummm progress. :D :)
I'm gonna e-mail Clint and get Dave's screen name changed to "Glacial"...:p

For the record I think Dave is the only person on here that might be slower moving than I am.

Challenging others on who is less motivated might be the first sign that you'll lose. :)
Adam, you're mixing the cards now.....
These two things are not interrelated.....

I never lose

Nice Dave, did you get a new watch too?
Several.:D The one in the photo reflected off the glass of the cabinet is a Hamilton Lord Lancaster B ca. 1963.

The good news is that I've recently found a solution to the health issue that's been dragging me down for years now. It's only been a couple of weeks but I feel much, much better. Looking towards the future, I hope to become a dynamo once I put this behind me.

I figured I would have to use these McIntosh Panloc rack mounts because the components are made for them and they have no regular feet on the bottom.

I installed the rack mounts and when I tried to slide in the first component, I found that the components were way too short to fit into the mounts. I had to remove them and install the regular shelving. Look how much narrower the vintage rack mount gear is than the modern standard.

The bottom two units will never get used: the MR-75 Tuner and MI-3 Maximum Performance Indicator. They are pretty much in the rack for safe, convenient storage.

The top two units are the action. The MC-2105 Amp and C-26 Preamp will be mated to some type of modern source units, a DVD player or computer.

The speakers will be my trusty old Era D5 with the Era Sub8. I'll use the high level crossover in the sub. The speaker's designer suggest that the D5 be used without a sub but I think I'll use it anyway. The sub may be small but it is an awesome musical sub that I think will excel in this situation.
