I think Bose might make a good one

It was gonna happen sooner or later so I just got it out of the way.

Unfortunately though, I don't have a realistic recommendation :(

Isn't this...

"...a really good AM radio..." an oxymoron?

Seriously, Grundig has a rep for excellent multi-band radios that goes back a long way...Telefunken is another, however I have no idea as to whether the latter is still around...

jimHJJ(...I think I'll do a Google...)

UPDATE: I did a Google...Scratch Telefunken(gee, that sounds dirty)...pro mics are their only stock in trade...

...unfortunately, their pick is a house-brand radio, at Eton and Grundig prices???? Plus they sell an FM dipole(something that used to be included as a freebie with every rec/tuner I've ever owned) for $24.95USD...certainly gives me pause...

Hey, Mac...Tivoli SongBook?

jimHJJ(...just my take...)

ADDENDUM: The Tivoli is AM/FM only, no SW, has a built-in charger for NiMH and NiCD batts AND can be powered from a 12vdc source...FWIW

Man, I didn't think this would be so hard. I was checking out thos CCrane and everything looked good until I read some reviews on them, they weren't too glowing. I can't find anything on those eaton's, or Tivoli's. All I want is a decent Damn radio, I can sit outside the camper and listen to a ballgame. Reception where I camp is bad, even at night. Hell, I'd take an old tube unit if I could find one that gets something clean!

C Crane has 30 money back guarantee could be worth a check. I do not know just heard of them in relation with AM and they are the only one I could think of. :)

I too am a HUGE fan of AM radio!!! I enjoy listening to sports broadcasts and talk radio shows all the time. Have you seen all the offerings at Universal Radio? Too late to get one for Mother's Day, too bad!!! :( but maybe I better start dropping some hins for Father's Day!!! :D The new Sangean W-2 looks pretty nice for a tabletop and the Grundig Satellit 800 Millennium is a very cool portable. Decisions...decisions...
