I left them in PA. Will use them when we go back in 14 months.

i dont know how they stack up with the list of speakers you picked, but the HSU bookshelf speakers i think sound great and are about 325.00 a set. I use a set of them along with the HSU center and subwoofer. I think it sounds much better than anything ive ever owned before. I mostly listen to music with a movie every now and then. I believe the HSU setup is a great sound for the money.

I was surprised to see the Hsu's weren't on the list for the bargains everybody says they are.

Can anyone comment to how they compare to the other speakers on the list?

I dunno I adore my overnight sensations for under 150, paired with my 5 dollar NAD 7225 PE stereo receiver that I picked up at an estate sale, and my 200 dollar DIY sub. I think it will give any one of those options a run for its money for under 400... amplified. :)
